Mentor Orientation and Training
(FOR VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE ALREADY APPLIED, REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
TBD: March 1, April, May, June
Prospective mentors are invited to orientation after they have passed the interview phase of our intake process. Mentor Orientation informs volunteers of our program expectations for them and our students, what they can expect in a mentoring relationship, and what positive youth development looks like.
Mentor Orientations occur on a Saturday or weekday and are about four hours long. Mentors, Inc. provides a meal -- breakfast, lunch, or dinner depending on the time the training occurs. This is a time to ask your questions, share your concerns, and learn how you’ll progress through the stages of the relationship. Orientation is held monthly, and mentors have called the orientation informative, engaging, and fun! For more information, contact Furqan Khaldun at 202-495-3762 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
